Study Shows Risk of Medical Tourism

A study in the Clinical Journal of American Society Nephrology. regarding kidney transplants raises the red flag about medical tourism's safeness for its patients.

UCLA researchers compared 33 kidney transplant patients who went to other counties for the treatment against 66 patient treated within United States. Thirty percent of medical tourist had kidney rejection against 12 percent treated locally. Receiving foreign kidneys also had higher risks of complication.
